Horizon Science Academy Southwest Chicago
Founded in 2014, Horizon Science Academy Southwest Chicago is a charter public school serving approximately 735 students in grades K–12, providing an innovative, STEM-focused education that prepares students for college, careers, and lifelong success. Operated by Concept Schools, the academy fosters a welcoming, high-expectations culture where students, families, and educators work together to promote academic excellence, character, and leadership.
Our Mission
At HSA Southwest, our mission is simple: we prepare our students for higher education and beyond by creating an effective learning environment with high standards and expectations. We meet or surpass all state requirements for curriculum, offering advanced classes as well as a supportive environment characterized by committed parents, dedicated staff, and challenged students - making HSA Southwest the best choice for your child's academic success.

Concept Model
HSA Southwest is managed by Concept Schools, an award-winning charter management organization that assists over 40 schools across the Midwest. Since 1999, Concept has built a reputation for providing a wide array of services for its network of schools, including its STEM-focused curricula that has put students in a position to succeed after they graduate high school. It has been around almost as long as the charter school movement and has been a great partner in helping HSA Southwest get to the point it is at today.
